This year ACD Environmental had 2 chosen charities; Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer’s Research, both charities very close to our hearts. We decided to have several events, not only are these great for raising funds but also great fun! From bake sales to coffee mornings, to dressing up as a zombie! Our main event that 14 members of staff got involved with was The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge; 24 miles up 3 peaks within 12 hours, sounds challenging? It was! The hours of training helped, but it was an enormous task physically and mentally, which we all completed within the time frame! With some tired legs, limping, and lost toenails we raised above and beyond our target. Our grand total this year which will be shared between our 2 charities is; £1800! We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that sponsored us and we are already planning for next year’s charity events…watch this space.
