Cotswold Way Completion!

Charity & Events

We did it!

On Saturday 8th September, ACD set themselves a challenge of completing a 24.5 mile walk along the Cotswold Way, whilst dressed as superheroes!

We began our walk shortly after 7am departing from Hawkesbury Upton and heading towards Bath. By lunchtime we had completed over half the walk including 315m of ascent and 305m of descent, passing through some lovely villages as well as Dodington Park and onto the back of Dyrham Park and woods.

We set off after lunch (with a few blisters already appearing) and carried on our hike! For the last stretch we completed 400m in ascent and a 225m descent, walking past the Civil War battlefield at Lansdown, Bath Racecourse, into Weston and on through Victoria Park, past the Royal Crescent and finishing at Bath Abbey.

There was some beautiful scenery and we were lucky the overcast weather was on our side with only a few spots of drizzle! We are very pleased to announce we completed the walk in under our target of 12 hours, finishing just shy of 11 hours!

It was a demanding trek and there were some sore limbs in the office on Monday morning but it was definitely worth it to raise money for Longfield and The UK Sepsis Trust. There is still time to donate, so please do as our challenge was not an easy stroll!
