Stephen is the founder of ACD Environmental. He has been a practicing Landscape Architect for 40 years – most of which has been in the private sector. He was previously a Landscape Architect with West Sussex County Council, a Landscape Officer with the London Borough of Haringey and a Senior Landscape Architect with the Alexandra Park and Palace Development Team. Stephen holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from Thames Polytechnic and has been a Member of the Landscape Institute for over thirty years, becoming a Chartered Landscape Architect with the granting of the Royal Charter in 1997. He established ACD in 1985.

Stephen has developed the landscape architectural practice to include ecology, arboriculture and archaeology and has created a multi-disciplinary environmental service that provides co-ordinated environmental solutions for all clients. He is also an affiliate member of the Arboricultural Association and ACD is a member of the Institute of Environmental Assessment.

Stephen actively liaises with local authorities and other consultants throughout the UK in order to maintain a positive and proactive working relationship with all. With nearly 10 years’ experience in Local Government and 30 in the private sector, Stephen has extensive knowledge of the industry and has developed a practice that responds to development needs and environmental constraints, providing practical solutions to client’s problems.

Stephen was a founder member of the London Wildlife Trust, a former Wildlife Trust Development Committee member and Development Committee member of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, He takes an active role in conservation matters and is also a Parish Councillor in Witley, Surrey.
