

Daniel Wood
Daniel is a professional ecologist with 14 years’ experience in both terrestrial and aquatic habitat management. He has a sound understanding of UK species and habitat ecology, including planning and implementing surveys, habitat restoration and management (both terrestrial and aquatic), biodiversity policy in the planning system, protected species licensing and legislation. Daniel holds Natural England survey licences for barn owl, bats, dormice and great crested newt. He is also a Registered Consultant on the badger class licence. He holds mitigation licences for badgers, bats (including rare species), dormice, and great crested newts.
Daniel has extensive, development project experience on sites of varying sizes, from individual dwellings to strategic land allocations involving a wide range of issues. He has managed ecological inputs on projects from pre-acquisition, promotion through the Local Plan, planning applications, EIA, and post-development obligations including Habitat Management Plans, monitoring and compliance checks. He is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
Daniel leads and line manages the team of ecologists at ACD Environmental and is responsible for technical quality across the team.
