Case Study
Ferrers Park, Lechlade
ACD was commissioned in 2015 to provide landscape architectural services for a residential development which benefited from outline planning permission. Our brief was to prepare detailed soft landscape proposals for Ferrers Park, Old Station Road, Lechlade, Gloucestershire as part of a Reserved Matters application.
We established a landscape brief with our client which identified the requirement for a high quality landscape installation which provided a robust, durable, low maintenance landscape structure with year round interest. There was also a requirement on site to provide wildlife friendly planting and so species were specifically selected for their blossom, seasonality and to provide not only habitat but a food source too.
Species which were considered in keeping with the surrounding landscape and in liaison with Cotswold District Council then a species palette was agreed and subsequently implemented. ACD were then asked to visit the site in 2018 to undertake a review and audit of the installed landscape associated with the open space. The landscape had been installed and the maintenance plan, which was originally prepared, was being fully implemented which gave the site a clean, tidy and high quality residential development for both the new residents and existing community to enjoy and value.
