Case Study
Klondyke Field, Ipswich
Our ecologists conducted a suite of surveys to inform a proposed residential development in proximity to a SPA near Ipswich.
ACD’s ecologists conducted a suite of protected species and habitat surveys including dormouse, reptile, great crested newt, breeding bird, bat roost assessments and an NVC woodland survey to inform the layout. ACD also produced an HRA screening report to enable the LPA to conduct an Appropriate Assessment to conclude no ‘likely significant effect’ on the nearby SPA.
The proposed development required a SANG to reduce the impact of recreational impacts on the SPAs designated features. Our ecology and landscape teams collaborated to produce a detailed SANG management plan and ecological enhancement strategy to meet the requirements of a SANG whilst protecting and enhancing the site for wildlife long term.
