Paula Downard
Paula joined ACD in November 2019 following 11 years working for a local authority where she specialised in landscapes for schools. Many of the projects she has worked on involve extensions to existing buildings where construction must be carried out alongside a fully operational site, where access and health and safety are key issues.
Paula specialises in site design, planning applications, technical drawings and specifications. She also has experience in project management and construction site supervision. Paula is a keen advocate for biodiversity and trees. she looks for ways to enhance schemes for the benefit of wildlife.
Having initially studied garden design, and through previous experience working for a small Hampshire-based design consultancy, Paula has a good knowledge of native and ornamental planting. She obtained a post-graduate diploma in Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire and became a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute in 2010.
