Now is the time to start looking out for signs of Japanese knotweed!

During the winter the plant dies back, but now you will be able to see the bamboo-like stems emerging. Japanese knotweed is an invasive, non-native plant that suppresses other plant growth and therefore it is an offence to cause or allow it to spread under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 section 14 (2).
