At ACD Environmental, we strive to build strong relationships with all our clients, including CALA Homes Chiltern. We have recently collaborated with them on a project in Aylesbury that consists of 120 residential units and a large open space. We have designed a play area inspired by Aylesbury’s history of Iron Age Hill forts, which were commonly found in the Buckinghamshire area. These Hill forts were created around 3000 years ago, in about 800BC, and were used as a defensive advantage to fortify villages or provide refuge.

The play area is situated on a raised earth mound that mimics the historic hill forts and is surrounded by new native vegetation. It includes two play towers and other traditional equipment such as swings and see-saws, as well as other elements that encourage natural and social play opportunities.

We have chosen Kompan UK as our supplier for the play equipment. In collaboration, we have selected eco-friendly and sustainable materials. The large play tower is made from 100% recycled post-consumer materials, and some parts are made from 75% post-consumer ocean waste. Kompan UK’s Greenline range is designed using environmentally friendly materials with the lowest CO2 emissions factor.

We are excited to see the completion and opening of the play area soon, where we can showcase the inspiration of Aylesbury’s past while offering sustainable play area solutions for the future. If you would like more information about our designed play areas, please feel free to contact us at ACD.
